Wildlife & volunteer disclaimers
Important: Do not attempt to capture, transport, or treat any wild animal based solely on information found on this Site. Always call our intake line first so we can help determine whether intervention is appropriate and, if so, how to proceed safely.
Wildlife rehabilitation is regulated under federal permits issued by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and applicable state permits. The capture, possession, transport, and treatment of wild animals must be performed by permitted individuals. Acting without the proper permits and training may be unlawful and can seriously injure the animal or expose you to disease or legal liability.
Volunteer participation at Stick House Sanctuary is at your own risk and is subject to our training, health, and safety protocols. Volunteers may be exposed to wild animals, enclosures, and conditions that carry inherent risks. By volunteering, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow the guidance and policies provided by our team at all times.

This Site may contain links to external websites — such as news coverage, partner organizations, regulatory agencies, or platform pages — that are not operated or controlled by Stick House Sanctuary. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of those external sites. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement, and we encourage you to review the terms and policies of any third-party site you visit.
Limitation of liability

While we strive to keep information accurate and current, we make no representations about the completeness or reliability of any content at any given time.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stick House Sanctuary, its officers, directors, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this Site, including any reliance on wildlife guidance published here.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stick House Sanctuary, its officers, directors, volunteers, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or damages — including reasonable attorneys’ fees — arising out of your breach of these Terms of Use or your misuse of any wildlife guidance, recommendations, or contact information provided on this Site.
